Government Bodies

A wide range of government agencies have a strong interest in the Third Sector. For example, the National Audit Office and Audit Commission, both have an interest in the efficiency and value for money of public expenditure through Third Sector Organisations.  There are also many government agencies that focus on specific areas of activity and have a role in developing and implementing policy, and in distributing funds to TSO, e.g. the Arts Council. The Third Sector is a significant employer which means that Skills Councils, such as the Children’s Workforce Development Council, have extensive engagement with TSOs.
