Why GDS?
GuideStar Data Services is the acknowledged integrated source of data and analysis of the registered and incorporated Third Sector in England and Wales. It provides information to the non-profit, private and public sectors and its clients include local and national government, banks, insurance companies, journalists, academics and grantmakers. With years of experience of analysing and interpreting this data, we provide unique insight into an under-investigated yet hugely important sector.
Organisations that have become used to fingertip access to detailed information on the private and public sector can now gain the same level of insight into the Third Sector. We hold data on charities, companies limited by guarantee, community interest companies and industrial and provident societies. The uniqueness of this information is in the level of detail on charities – up to 90% of the economic activity of the Third Sector is generated by these organisations yet, outside of the largest, little is known about them.
